    • An adjustment mechanism that adjusts an inclination and a position of an optical axis of an excitation light optical system with respect to an optical axis of a white light optical system is provided. The adjustment mechanism includes a frame plate, a plate-shaped lever, a fixing unit, a first adjuster, and a second adjuster. The frame plate is orthogonally placed with respect to the optical axis of the white light optical system, and perforated with a pair of circular holes, and an elliptical hole. The plate-shaped lever is perforated with a first elliptical hole and a second elliptical hole and a cylindrical projection. The fixing unit fixes the excitation light optical system to the plate-shaped lever. The first adjuster includes a first supporting axle and a first disc-shaped cam to which the first supporting axle is eccentrically fixed, the first disc-shaped cam being rotatably and slidably fitted in the first elliptical hole of the plate-shaped lever. The second adjuster includes a second supporting axle and a second disc-shaped cam to which the second supporting axle is eccentrically fixed, the second disc-shaped cam being rotatably and slidably fitted in the second elliptical hole of the plate-shaped lever.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope capable of retaining the quantity of white light emitted from a light guide constant as much as possible even if the quantity of light emitted from a white light source is reduced.
      SOLUTION: The diameter of the white light emitted from the white light source 201 is reduced by afocal optical system 203 and condensed by a condenser lens 207 to enter the light guide 101. A second lens 203b of the afocal optical system is fixed inside a movable lens-barrel 211 with a screw and a gear formed on the outer surface. The movable lens-barrel 211 is screw-engaged with a fixed lens-barrel 212 with a screw formed on the inner surface. A pinion 214 of a focus adjusting motor 213 is engaged with the gear of the movable lens-barrel. A control part 21 turns on the white light source 202 and drives the focus adjusting motor to regulate the light quantity based on the output of a light quantity sensor 220 which receives a component reflected in a dichroic mirror.

      SOLUTION: A connector receiver 20a is provided with a signal connector receiver 21 to which the signal connector 11 of an electronic endoscope 10 is connected and a support cylinder 22 to which an optical connector 12 is inserted. When the optical connector 12 is inserted to the support cylinder 22, it is defined that light is converged to the distal end face of the optical connector 12. The support cylinder 22 has such a length that it can support the distal end of the optical connector 12 when the optical connector 12 is inserted. A small diameter part 22a whose inner diameter is smaller than the other parts is formed on the upper side of the distal end of the support cylinder 22, a large diameter part 22b whose inner diameter is larger than the other parts is formed on the lower side of the distal end, and a leaf spring 27 is attached to the large diameter part 22b as an energizing means.
