The spherical aberration of the entire system is corrected by the spherical aberration of the dispersed light and spherical aberrations generated on the objective lens and the disk protective layer, and the coma aberration of the entire system when the objective lens is shifted is corrected by a coma aberration component caused by the spherical aberration of the coupling lens and coma aberration components generated on the object lens and the disk protective layer. A distance from a point to which the normal diffraction order light converges to a point to which the undesired diffraction order light converges is larger than or equal to twice a pull-in range of a focus error signal obtained when the third optical disc is used.
