    • The invention relates to a filter press (1) with a stack of vertically aligned, horizontally displaceable filter plates (6). Neighboring filter plates (6) are interconnected by means of at least one respective connecting element and define a filter chamber between them. In a pressing position of the sealing edges, said filter plates (6) lie against one another and are displaced one by one into a discharge position by horizontally displacing at least one filter plate (6). In this discharge position, the horizontal distance of neighboring filter plates (6) is limited by the action of a coupling element (12) on a stop surface (20). The aim of the invention is to evenly and completely relieve all sealing edges. To this end, the filter plates (6) can be displaced from the pressing position to a relief position in which the sealing edges are detached from the pertaining sealing surfaces and in which the coupling elements (12) engage with a blocking surface (13) that prevents a further horizontal displacement. The engagement of the coupling elements (12) with the blocking surfaces (13) can be released by unlatching the pertaining connection elements (11) so that the neighboring filter plates (6) can be displaced further into the discharge position.

    • The invention relates to a filter press (1) for filtering suspensions. Said press consists of a holder (2), a support plate (3) fixed thereto, a displaceable pressure plate (5) and a packet of vertical filter plates (6) that are arranged between the support plate (3) and the pressure plate (5). Each filter chamber that is situated between two filter plates (6) is defined by at least one filter cloth (7K) which is guided in an S-shaped manner around two horizontally oriented reversing bodies (10). The reversing bodies (10) can be moved vertically and in relation to the allocated filter cloth (7) by means of two lifting elements (14) of a lifting device. Said elements are arranged on two opposite longitudinal sides of the filter press (1) and can be coupled to carriers (21) which protrude on the face and pertain to the reversing bodies (10). The aim of the invention is to improve access to the filter plates (6) and reduce the constructional complexity of the lifting device. To this end, the length of the lifting device only amounts to a fraction of the length pertaining to the filter plate packet, whereby said first length is parallel in relation to a longitudinal axis of the filter press (1). The lifting device can be moved in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the filter press (1) and is rigidly connected to the lifting elements (14) in said direction.

    • The invention relates to a filter press for filtering suspensions that comprises a plurality of filter plates (1M, 1K) that can be displaced in parallel with respect to one another. In a filtering position, said filter plates can be compressed to a package that comprises a filter chamber (23) between respective two filter plates (1M, 1K), said chamber being provided with at least one filter cloth (7M, 7K). In a discharge position, adjoining filter plates (1M, 1K) can be moved apart by a discharge distance (3) so that the filter cake adhering to the filter cloth (7K) can be discharged. Every filter chamber (3) is correlated with at least one filling element (2) for feeding the suspension to the filter chamber (23). The aim of the invention is to prevent leakages in the zone of the peripheral sealing edge, to guarantee an unimpaired filter capacity during feeding and to facilitate operation of the filter press without an external supply line and outgoing connection lines. To this end, the filling element (2) is disposed on a joining piece (5) that extends outside a plate level and within a sealing edge (27) on the periphery of the filter plates (1M, 1K) and that can be linked with a filter plate (1M). In the filtering position, the filling elements (2) form a suspension supply channel (22) that extends through the filter plate package and are sealingly wedged between adjoining filter plates (1M, 1K).
