摘要： Directional channel access techniques for wireless communication networks are described. According to various such techniques, a directional channel access mechanism may be implemented in order to enable improved spatial reuse in a wireless network. In some embodiments, according to the directional channel access mechanism, a wireless communication device may be able to perform multiple concurrent channel accesses in different respective directions. In various embodiments, a wireless communication device utilizing the directional channel access mechanism may transmit in multiple different directions at the same time. In some embodiments, a wireless communication device utilizing the directional channel access mechanism may receive from multiple different directions at the same time. In various embodiments, a wireless communication device utilizing the directional channel access mechanism may transmit in one or more directions and receive from one or more other directions at the same time. A device is disclosed that may determine a first length of time corresponding to a first spatial reuse transmit opportunity (SR-TxOP) time period. The device may determine a second length of time corresponding to a transmit opportunity (TxOP) time period that starts when a request to send (RTS) frame is transmitted and ends after the first length of time ends. The device may cause to transmit the RTS frame, over the channel, to a first device. The device may determine that a clear to send (CTS) frame is received from the first device, the CTS frame comprising a first duration field equal to having a third length of time corresponding to a second transmission opportunity (SR-TxOP). The device may determine that the third length of time corresponds to a length of time between when the CTS frame was transmitted and when the first length of time ends. The device may determine that the third length of time is less than the second length of time. The device may cause to transmit a CTS to self frame, over the channel, comprising a second duration field equal to having a fourth length of time, wherein the fourth length of time correspond to a length of time between when the CTS to self frame is transmitted and when the first length of time ends.

The apparatus comprising processing circuitry configure to: select a first one or more directional multi-gigabit (DMG) antennas from DMG antennas of the wireless device. The processing circuitry further configured to configure the wireless device to perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) for each of a plurality of CCA configurations applicable to the first one or more DMG antennas, where each CCA configuration comprises a second one or more of the DMG antennas. The processing circuitry further configured to if each CCA configuration applicable to the first one or more DMG antennas indicate the channel is idle, decrease a backoff time, and, if the backoff time is zero, configure the wireless device to transmit a packet on the channel using the first one or more DMG antennas.
