    • In an electronic musical instrument, an interface part obtains user information from a dedicated accessory device logically connected to the electronic musical instrument. An access part accesses a server using the user information obtained through the interface part. A character information acquisition part obtains character information which represents a character and which corresponds to the user information, from the server or the dedicated accessory device. A lesson information acquisition part obtains, from the server, lesson information which represents a lesson work to be practiced. A control part performs control operation to display the character created based on the character information obtained by the character information acquisition part while the electronic musical instrument is logically connected to the dedicated accessory device through the interface part, and to display the lesson information when the lesson information has been obtained by the lesson information acquisition part.

    • Each of a plurality of pad devices that can be moved independent of each other includes: a sensor section for detecting a strike; and a transmitting section for transmitting operation information according to an output of the sensor section with wireless communication. A receiving section is provided in connection with a sound generating device to receive the operation information transmitted from each of the pad devices with wireless communication. The sound generating device generates a musical tone signal in accordance with the received operation information. A pad location detecting section detects a location of each of the pad devices. The sound generating device carries out tone generation control, for example, sound image localization control, for the musical tone signal generated in correspondence with each of the pad devices in accordance with the location of each of the pad devices detected by the pad location detecting section.

    • A solar cell includes a p-n junction formed by joining a p-type semiconductor and an n-type semiconductor. The p-type semiconductor is a chalcopyrite compound semiconductor with a band gap of 1.5 eV or more within which an intermediate level exists with a half bandwidth of 0.05 eV or more. The intermediate level is different from an impurity level. The chalcopyrite compound semiconductor includes a first element having first electronegativity of 1.9 or more in Pauling units, the first element occupying a lattice site of the semiconductor. A portion of the first element is substituted with a second element having second electronegativity different from the first electronegativity, the second element being a congeneric element of the first element. The intermediate level is created by substituting the first element with the second element.
