The measuring tube is connected using two L-shape members (52a and 52b) whose cross section in the vertical direction against the flow direction is L-shaped so as to make the cross section of the tube is rectangular. At the position where the ultrasonic transmit-receive means is located, an opening (52c) is provided. In addition, a turbulent flow suppression member (54) which has micropore to pass through ultrasonic waves is provided at the opening. The measuring tube also comprises a member whose coefficient of linear expansion is not greater than a prescribed value.
