    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding material for an austenitic stainless steel having excellent in weld hot cracking resistance in a high temperature region, and to provide a weld metal and a welded joint having excellent ductility and creep strength in a high temperature region.
      SOLUTION: The welding material for an austenitic stainless steel has a chemical composition comprising, by mass, 0.03 to 0.18% C, ≤0.5% Si, ≤1.5% Mn, >40 to 50% Ni, 20 to 25% Cr, 5 to 8% W, 0.60 to 1.40% Nb, 0.03 to 0.18% Ti, >0.1 to 0.2% N and ≤0.01% Al, and the balance Fe with impurities, wherein the impurities containing ≤0.01% P, ≤0.01% S and ≤0.02% O (oxygen). Also disclosed are the weld metal obtained by using the welding material, and the welded joint composed of a base metal of an austenitic stainless steel having excellent high temperature strength.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting tube excellent in buckling resistance and also to provide its manufacturing method.
      SOLUTION: This connecting tube is equipped with steel tubes 10, 20 and a butt-welded zone 30. The steel tube 20 is installed coaxially with the steel tube 10 and provided with the same nominal outside diameter DA (mm) as the steel tube 10. The butt-welded zone 30 is between the tubes 10, 20 and formed by butt-welding of these tubes 10, 20. The outside diameter DO1 (mm) and the inner diameter DI1 (mm) of the end 11 of the steel tube 10 and those DO2 (mm) and DI2 (mm) of the end 21 of the steel tube 20 satisfy following expressions (1), (2). The yield stress Y1 (MPa) of the steel tube 10 and that Y2 (MPa) of the steel tube 20 satisfy expression (3) below. Expressions (1), (2) and (3) are: |DO1-DO2|≤1.5×|DI1-DI2| (1); |DI1-DI2|≤0.01×DA+2 (2); and |Y1-Y2|≤120 (3), respectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low alloy steel which has excellent long time creep strength, creep ductility, and toughness which are suitable as a material for a heat-resistant structural member used in the temperature region to about 550°C.
      SOLUTION: The low alloy steel contains 0.03-0.10% C, ≤0.10% Si, 0.001-0.30% Mn, ≤0.020% P, ≤0.0080% S, 0.40-1.50% Cr, 0.25-1.00% Mo, 0.03-0.15% V, 0.001-0.070% Nb, 0.001-0.30% Ni, 0.001-0.020% Ti, 0.0001-0.0060% B, 0.0001-0.030% Nd, ≤0.010% soluble Al, ∠0.0060% N, ≤0.0050% O, and the balance Fe and impurities, and the content of Ti, B, N, and Nd is in the range of 0.0001-0.0060 of Beff value expressed by formula (1): Beff=B-(11/14)N+(11/48)Ti+(11/144)Nd. This low alloy steel can also contain at least one of W, Cu, Co, Mg, Ca, La, Ce, Y, Sm, and Pr.
