摘要： Techniques are provided for efficient allocation of frequency spectrum blocks. In one example, there is provided a method, operable by one or more network entities, for reallocating a portion of a first frequency band allocated to a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT. The method may involve determining a migration block granularity for reallocating the portion of the first frequency band to the second RAT. The method may involve identifying spectrum block(s) of the determined granularity in the first frequency band. The method may involve aggregating the identified spectrum block(s) with a native carrier in a second frequency band allocated to the second RAT. The method may involve controlling of the aggregated spectrum block(s) via the native carrier for the second RAT.

摘要： Apparatus and methods are disclosed for reducing or eliminating searches by a UE for its home PLMN when the mobile station is roaming in a network not in the vicinity of the home PLMN. That is, the UE may be provisioned with information about its home PLMN. For example, some embodiments can comprise a neighbor database indicating neighbor relationships between PLMNs and the home PLMN. This can enable a UE to determine whether the home PLMN is likely to be nearby when it is visiting a different PLMN. Forgoing a PLMN home search reduces processing and can aid in conserving power resources. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

According to some embodiments, a network apparatus can transmit ciphered and unciphered data. The network apparatus transmits a first signal indicating a cipher to be used and transmits a second signal indicating that non-secure data is to be transmitted and received unciphered. The network apparatus can cipher secure data and transmits ciphered-secure data and unciphered-non-secure data. A wireless terminal can receive the first and second signals, the ciphered secure data, and the unciphered non-secure data. The wireless terminal can deciphers the received secure data and does not decipher the received non-secure data. System embodiments can include both network-side and network terminal components.
