At least one device (120) has a logical address that includes a device type, a device owner, an intended device function and a device feature and/or a device location in an environment of the device. The control logic for the at least one device (120) is designed and executed using the logical address, whereby the execution is performed by processor (110), either in distributed fashion by an embedded processor (110) of the at least one device (120) or centrally by a central processor (110) connectable to the network (100). A memory (130), which may be centralized and/or distributed, is provided for storing a mapping from the logical address to a physical network address of the device (120).

摘要： The invention relates to altering the behavior of a networked control system such as the integrating of a device such as a light unit or a light switch in a networked control system such as a networked lighting system. An embodiment of the invention provides a method for altering the behavior of a networked control system, which comprises several devices, wherein the method comprises the steps of—selecting an abstract control logic program from a list of several abstract control logic programs (SIO), —transmitting a message for requesting replies from devices (S 12), —waiting for receiving a reply from at least one device (S 14), —displaying the profile of at least one device of the devices (S 16), from which replies were received, —waiting for a selection of at least one device from the displayed profiles (S 18), —generating code establishing the behavior of the selected abstract control logic program for the selected one or more devices (S20), and—uploading the generated code to one or more devices in the networked control system such that the selected devices will behave according to the selected abstract control logic program (S22). The invention allows creating a behavior alteration procedure for a networked control system, which is very intuitive for users, who merely have to perform some easy and comfortable interactions such as selecting the abstract control logic program.

A basic idea of the invention is to equip a device such as a lamp with a network transmitter and receiver with a form of proximity detection in order to enable a user to easily copy the settings of one device to another device within their proximity. An embodiment of the invention provides a system for copying settings of one device to another device, comprising a network transmitter (10) coupled to a first device (12), a network receiver (14) coupled to a second device (16), wherein the network transmitter and the network receiver may establish a network connection (18) if their distance is essentially equal or less than a predetermined distance (20), the network transmitter is adapted to read device settings of the first device and to transmit the read device settings over the established network connection, and the network receiver is adapted to receive the device settings, being transmitted by the network transmitter over the established network connection, and to configure the second device in accordance with the received device settings.
