    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of culturing P. lima being benthic microalgae in large quantities and in high density, and a means of producing okadaic acid and analogous compounds thereof in large quantities. SOLUTION: Disclosed are: a benthic microalgae culturing method featured by that plant-growing fluorescent light is irradiated while purifying a culture medium through an adsorbent column which is circulatably installed with a culture vessel using a shallow flat-bottomed vessel as a culture vessel for the benthic microalgae; and a benthic microalgae culturing apparatus having a shallow flat-bottomed vessel in which a plant-growing fluorescent lamp is installed at the upper part of the vessel, a culture medium tank, a culture medium circulating pump and an adsorbent column and featured by that the flat-bottomed vessel is circulatably communicated to the culture medium storage tank through the culture medium circulating pump and by that the adsorbent column is communicated to the culture medium storage tank so that the culture medium can be circulated.
