摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a data amount at the time of transmitting image signals and at the time of storing them in a storage medium, to prevent degradation of image quality from occurring after performing a color processing and to provide the images of high quality. SOLUTION: This image signal processing method for processing the image signals outputted from an image pickup element 11 is provided with a compression process for executing an information compression processing to the image signals without performing the color correction of at least white balance correction or γ correction or the like, and an expansion process for executing an information expansion processing to the image signals to which the information compression processing has been performed. A color processing is performed after the information compression and expansion processings are finished. Block noise and high frequency noise accompanying the compression and expansion of image data are prevented from being generated after performing the color processing to the image signals.

Thus, when the vertical directional position (p) and the horizontal direction position (q) are designated, a pixel section 101 outputs the pixel signals at pixel positions (p-1, q-1),..., pixel positions (p+1, q+1) respectively to output lines S1,..., S9.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a noise without increasing the size of a solid-state image pickup device by forming a feedback loop with a differential amplifier means, a reset means and an output means. SOLUTION: When a high level pulse is applied to terminals 101, 112, a transistor(TR) M3 of a pixel section is conductive, resulting that a TR M4 and a constant current source 11 act like a source follower circuit. Since TRs M7, M6 around an output signal A1 are conductive at the same time, a reset voltage from a terminal 113 is given to a noninverting input terminal of the operational amplifier A1 and a voltage on an output line 50 is given to an inverting input terminal of the operation amplifier A1. Thus, the operational amplifier A1 acts like a comparator. Since a terminal 103 is set to a high level and a rest MOS TR M2 of the pixel section is conductive, a feedback is loop formed with a path of the operational amplifier A1 → the reset MOS TR M2 →the source follower circuit of the pixel section (consisting of the TR M4 and the source 11) → the operational amplifier A1.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change sensitivity in accordance with a signal charge to be accumulated in a photoelectric converting part by constituting the charge voltage converting part for converting a signal charge transferred from the photoelectric converting part into a signal voltage with plural capacitances having different voltage dependence. SOLUTION: A P-type well area 2, an N-type diffusion area 3 and a P-type area 4 on an N-type semiconductor substrate constitute a photodiode. A transfer gate electrode 6 transfers a signal charge to a floating diffusion(FD) area 5 from the photodiode. MOS configuring parts 7 and 8 are serially connected to the FD area 5, and MOS capacity is connected to the capacity of the FD area. The FD area 5 and MOS configuring parts 7 and 8 constitute a charge voltage converting part. The MOS configuring parts 7 and 8 can be set so as to have a capacity having voltage dependence different from that of the FD area 5 by adjusting a fixed voltage, etc., to be applied to well density, gate oxide film thickness, and a gate electrode.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the signal processing speed by providing an image-pickup signal processing means on the same IC chip as an image-pickup device to output an operational signal which performs an operation among the feature information on the pixel signal contained for every block of a prescribed size smaller than a single screen, every pixel signal received from the image-pickup device and the feature information stored in the block to which the pixel signal belongs. SOLUTION: A pseudo-luminance signal Y' and the pseudo-chrominance signals U' and V', which are generated from the original signals sent from a pixel part, are stored in an analog memory 6. A feature information detecting circuit 10 simultaneously inputs the signals stored in the memory 6 and generates the feature information output in the memory 6. A differential circuit 12 performs a differential operation between every signal that is read out of the memory 6 by a reading circuit 11 and the feature information output and then generates the differential output against the feature information. Thus, the image signals of a form which is suitable for image signal processing can be outputted from an image-pickup sensor, and accordingly image signal processing accuracy and speed can be improved.
