摘要： The invention concerns an apparatus, its use within a treatment plant and the method of operating the treatment plant for managing storm water flow and inhibiting the flow of pollutants, debris, and other contaminants into drainage systems. The apparatus comprises a flow diverter installed at an inlet (3) of a treatment area (4), such as a bioretention treatment area or a storm water retention and detention system whereby in normal use, water is directed to the treatment area and in the case of strong rain falls, water is bypassed the treatment area. The bypass comprises a bypass opening in an internal wall in the form of a weir such that excess water flows over the weir directly to the outlet (7) without passing through the treatment area.
