    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing, in which fretting can be prevented and the abnormal abrasion of a circumferential end surface or an outer diameter surface of each circular arc member is suppressed by reliably holding in a splitting condition a retainer constructed by connecting in a ring shape a plurality of circular arc members without depending on operating conditions or the like. SOLUTION: In the rolling bearing, a retainer 3 is used which is constructed by connecting in the ring shape a plurality of circular arc members 5 equipped with a plurality of pockets 4 for housing rolling elements. A connecting means 8 is provided which connects mutually facing circumferential ends of the adjacent pair of the circular arc members 5 of the retainer 3 in such a manner that they can be relatively displaced mutually circumferentially, and that they cannot be separated in the radial direction. For example, the connecting means 8 includes a groove 6 which is formed on the outer diameter surface of a circular arc part 5a of the circular arc member 5 and extends circumferentially, and a snap ring 7 fitted in this groove 6. Further, countless minute depressions 10 are formed on either of the circumferential end surface and the outer diameter surface of the circular arc member 5 or both of them.
