    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disinfection and freshness retention apparatus capable not only of generating ultrafine ozone water whose ozone concentration loss over time is abated but also of subjecting, by using the freshness retention gas water, a perishable food or plant to an effective disinfection and freshness retention treatment; a disinfection and freshness retention method; and a perishable food or plant treated with the disinfection and freshness retention method.SOLUTION: The provided apparatus is furnished with: a venturi tube 231; a gas supply pipe 239 for gas intake; and a magnetic circuit 243, whereas ultrafine gas water which is not only ultrafine but also excellent in terms of concentration stability is generated by impressing a magnetic field on an occasion for mixing and agitating the gas and a treatment target liquid in the small-diameter pathway of the venturi tube 231 and the vicinity thereof. Ozone water provided as this ultrafine gas water is used for disinfecting a perishable food. A perishable food whose freshness is retained safely over an extended period can be provided by using the freshness retention gas water for the freshness retention treatment thereof.

SOLUTION: Ozone water is generated by the following processes: a raw ozone water generation process (P1) for mixing ozone with raw water to generate raw ozone water, and a concentration-adjusted ozone water generation process (P2) for mixing water for mixing with the raw ozone water to generate ozone water with a lower concentration than the raw ozone water. The gas cooling device is provided, and ozone gas is cooled to 0°C or lower in the gas sucking and introducing pipe from an ozonizer to the ejector, and introduced into the ejector.
