    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing polarizing films capable of highly efficiently manufacturing the polarizing films with a high polarizing function.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing polarizing films for continuously manufacturing the polarizing films includes: a first step for feeding a belt-like polyvinyl alcohol resin film from a tip side to a moving passage and drawing it in the longitudinal direction in the moving passage; and a second step for joining and connecting the rear end side of a preceding first polyvinyl alcohol resin film to the tip side of a subsequent second polyvinyl alcohol resin film. In the second step, the polyvinyl alcohol resin films are joined with the rear end side of the first polyvinyl alcohol resin film and the tip side of the second polyvinyl alcohol resin film superposed, and the films are connected in such a manner that the elongation amount of a joining part when drawing it in the moving passage at a draw ratio of 4.2 times relative to the original length becomes 30% or more relative to the elongation amount of a non-joining part.
