In the conveying step, the long laminate is conveyed while the waterproofing-treatment liquid remaining on the surface of the organic thin film is made to flow to the surface of the organic thin film.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an optical laminate, by which an alignment direction of a dichroic substance is arbitrarily controlled into a desired direction on a stretched film and a circularly polarizing plate can be easily produced.SOLUTION: In the production method of an optical laminate film comprises laminating a polarizing film on a stretched film having a stretching axis in one direction within a film plane, the method includes: a rubbing step of rubbing a surface of the stretched film in a predetermined rubbing direction; and a polarizing film forming step of forming a polarizing film by applying a liquid crystalline solution containing a dichroic substance on the surface of the stretched film subjected to the rubbing treatment in the above rubbing step, and by aligning the dichroic substance in a direction orthogonal to the rubbing direction. The stretching axis of the stretched film and the orthogonal direction constitute a rubbing angle. The rubbing direction in the rubbing step is determined based on the above rubbing angle that is larger than an intersection angle formed by the stretching axis of the stretched film and an absorption axis of the polarizing film.
