    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment method and a wastewater treatment apparatus for solving the problem of a conventional technology utilizing anammox bacteria and efficiently treating wastewater having organic matters and ammonia nitrogen without leaving nitrate in treated water. SOLUTION: The wastewater treatment method for cleaning raw water containing the organic matters and the ammonia nitrogen includes: a process A which is an organic matter decomposing process of introducing the raw water to a bacteria tank for performing aerobic treatment by bacteria practically under absence of protozoa, performing bacteria treatment, biodegrading the organic matters in the wastewater by the bacteria, and removing increased bacteria by solid-liquid separation treatment; a process B of oxidizing a part of ammonia nitrogen in the treated water obtained in the process A into nitrite nitrogen by ammonia oxidizing bacteria under an aerobic condition; and a process C of denitrifying the treated water containing the nitrite nitrogen oxidized in the process B and the ammonia nitrogen which is not oxidized into the nitrite nitrogen in the process B inside a denitrification tank under an anaerobic condition by autotrophic denitirifying bacteria.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and economical organic wastewater treatment method which can more reduce the amount of surplus sludge than the conventional method without deteriorating the water quality of treated water discharged in the final stage to enable a reduction of cost for surplus sludge treatment. SOLUTION: In the organic wastewater treatment method having a sludge solubilization process where a part of sludge solid-liquid separated in a settling tank is extracted and solubilized in activated sludge treatment and the solubilized sludge is returned again into an aeration tank to be subjected to purification treatment, sludge in the amount 1-3 times that of sludge propagated by organic matter treatment in the aeration tank is extracted from the settling tank and the extracted sludge is treated with acid and alkali in parallel or series in the sludge solubilization process, and then, when the treated sludge is returned into the aeration tank, a volume ratio of the amount of the acid-treated sludge to that of the alkali-treated sludge is adjusted to 1:1 to 1:6.
