    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy material having excellent mechanical properties, and having excellent dimensional precision in a high temperature atmosphere, and to provide a method for producing the same.
      SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy material is composed of an Mg-Zn-Gd based alloy comprising, by atom, 0.5 to 3% Zr and 1 to 5% Gd, and the balance Mg with inevitable impurities, and comprises Mg
      5 Gd and/or Mg
      7 Gd in the structure, and in which the area ratio of Mg
      3 Gd and long period stacked structure crystallized out or precipitated in grain boundaries is ≥30%. Further, the method for producing the magnesium alloy material comprises: a melt casting stage where an Mg-Zn-Gd based alloy is melted and cast, so as to obtain a cast material; a plastic working stage where the cast material is subjected to plastic working, so as to produce the worked material; and a heat treatment stage where the worked material is subjected to heat treatment so as to be held at 200 to 300°C for ≥20 hr.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fillet roll machining by a small diameter roll under low roll load (pressing load), to achieve the fillet roll machining for conventionally unaccomplished narrow crank pin part and journal part, and also to provide a crankshaft having higher fatigue strength and low cost. SOLUTION: When performing the fillet roll machining for a fillet round part 2a in the crank pin part 2 of the crankshaft 1, a steel product having a yield ratio ≤0.6 as a material of the crankshaft 1 is used. A pressing roller 3 in which a value of (1/R)+(1/r) calculated from a diameter R (mm) of the crank pin part 2 and a diameter r (mm) of the pressing roller 3 is ≥0.11 is used.
