摘要： A method for communicating signals in an ultra high bandwidth system that compensates for carrier frequency offset is provided. A baseband transmit signal having a plurality of data bits is generated. The baseband transmit signal is upconverted to a radio frequency (RF) transmit signal using a first local oscillator signal having a first carrier frequency. An offset cancellation for the offset between the first carrier frequency and a second carrier frequency for a second local oscillator signal that is used to downconvert an RF receive signal is calculated. The offset cancellation is applied to a plurality of phase rotators, and the RF transmit signal is transmitted over a phased array.

摘要： A feedback module is defined to receive as input a set of data sample signals and a set of reference sample signals. Each of the data and reference sample signals is generated by sampling a differential signal having been transmitted through a FIR filter. The feedback module is defined to operate a respective post cursor counter for each post cursor of the FIR filter and update the post cursor counters based on the received sets of data and reference sample signals. Also, the feedback module is defined to generate a tap weight adjustment signal for a given tap weight of the FIR filter when a magnitude of a post cursor counter corresponding to the given tap weight is greater than or equal to a threshold value. An adaptation module is defined to adapt a reference voltage used to generate the reference sample signals to a condition of the differential signal.

A parametric statistical representation having parameters that model non-deterministic noise is defined for the given channel and values for the parameters of the parametric statistical representation are estimated to provide a second statistical representation for the non-deterministic noise based on at least one of measurements and simulations performed for the given channel. The BER of the given channel is estimated as a function of the first and second statistical representations.

摘要： A method of communicating across a channel includes receiving information having a known bandwidth and a known spectrum. The information is preferably in the form of a multicarrier modulated signal, e.g., a DMT signal. In one aspect, this information is received at a receiver having a reduced channel bandwidth. An aliasing spectrum can be calculated based on the known spectrum and the frequency difference between the known bandwidth and the reduced-channel bandwidth. The received information can then be modified based upon the aliasing function to compensate for alias distortion. For example, the received information can be modified by modifying the noise component or signal-to-noise ratio of the received information.

摘要： A method is provided. A multi-amplitude signal is received and downconverted so as to generate I and Q signals using a local oscillator signal. The I and Q signals are equalized, and the equalized I and Q signals are digitized. First and second gains are adjusted with the second and first digital signals, respectively, and applied to the equalized I and Q signals, respectively. The difference between the first and second amplified signals is determined, and an error signal is generated from the difference between the first and second amplified signals. The local oscillator signal is then adjusted with the error signal.
