    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering dissolved iron in waste water, by which the interfusion of components other than iron is suppressed, moreover, sludge having low water content and excellent dewaterability can be obtained and dissolved iron in wastewater can be recovered and used, when the raw water is wastewater containing many kinds of metal ions mainly including dissolved iron particularly ferrous iron.SOLUTION: The raw water is introduced into a neutralization oxidation tank, pH of the raw water is adjusted between 3.5 and 6.0, δ-FeO(OH) is added into the neutralization oxidation tank as a catalyst, dissolved iron is subjected to oxidation treatment by an oxidizing agent to produce metal hydroxide mainly including iron(III) hydroxide particles and then metal hydroxide-containing sludge is separated by precipitation in a precipitation tank arranged at a downstream side of the neutralization oxidation tank and further a return process for returning a part of the sludge separated by precipitation to the neutralization oxidation tank is provided. In that process, a part of the sludge separated by precipitation is introduced into a sludge reaction tank, the sludge is treated by adding an alkali agent into the reaction tank and the raw water is continuously treated while returning treated sludge into the neutralization oxidation tank. Thus the method for recovering dissolved iron from wastewater containing many kinds of metal ions is provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal ion-containing wastewater treatment method which can efficiently separate dissolved iron and the like from the beginning of start-up, is easy in sludge treatment, and suppresses increase of equipment cost and running cost, in treatment of wastewater mainly containing dissolved iron.SOLUTION: The metal ion-containing wastewater treatment method includes a treatment system for treating raw water mainly containing dissolved iron, and a preparation system of δ-FeO(OH) for generating fine crystal particles of δ-FeO(OH) used in the treatment system. The treatment system has a reaction process for performing the oxidation treatment of the raw water in a reaction tank to generate metal hydroxides including iron hydroxides, and a separation process for settling and separating the iron hydroxides in a settling tank. When the treatment system is started up, an alkali agent and an oxidizing agent are added to an iron-based reagent containing divalent iron and they are mixed and reacted to generate the fine crystal particles of δ-FeO(OH) in the preparation system of δ-FeO(OH). The fine crystal particles are immediately added into the reaction tank to be used as an oxidation catalyst, and oxidative treatment in the reaction process is performed by air oxidation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more excellent method for treating cyan-containing waste liquid by which a poisonous cyan component can be effectively removed so as to make no cyan component remain, which has higher treatment safety than conventional methods and which is convenient and can be industrially utilized, and further to provide chemicals used therefor.SOLUTION: The method for treating cyan-containing waste liquid is characterized in that at least one compound chosen from a group composed of a compound having an aldehyde group or a keto group and a hydrophobic group, a compound having a carboxyl group and a hydrophobic group, glyoxylic acid or its ester, ascorbic acid or its optical isomer, lignin or its derivative, humic acid or its derivative and reducing sugar is added to cyan-containing waste liquid and the waste liquid is held at pH 5 to 12 to cause reaction of cyan in the waste liquid with the chosen compound to produce cyanohydrin and the cyanohydrin is adsorbed to suspended matter and then adsorbed material is subjected to solid-liquid separation. Chemicals used for treating cyan-containing waste liquid is also provided.
