摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and performance of the welding of castings by coating the outer periphery of a core wire consisting of specific weight ratios of Ni and Fe with a specific ratio of specific % of carbonate, metal fluoride, silicate, org. matter, and fine grain graphite of a specific grain size and drying the coating at a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:The core wire is constituted of, by weight, of 40% Ni and the balance substantially Fe. The outer periphery of the core wire is coated with the coating material at 10 to 30% of the total weight of the welding rod. The coating material is formed to contain 30 to 60% carbonate, 1 to 10% metal fluoride, 1 to 15% silicate, 1 to 10% org. matter, and the fine grain graphite >=85% of which is constituted of 1 to 32 micron grain size and >=50% is constituted 1 to 12 microns. The coating material is dried at 100 to 280 deg.C after the coating. The welding workability is good in this way and the welding which does not generate welding defects is executed.

Thus, the wire has excellent weld workability and the build up metal exhibits high hardness.
