    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst excelling in heat resistance and purifying performance while considerably reducing the applied amount of rare earth elements, and a method for producing the exhaust gas purifying catalyst, and an exhaust gas purifying catalyst member.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas purifying catalyst is formed by supporting at least one noble metal selected from Pd, Pt and Rh, on a composite oxide having a phase of two perovskite structures with different lattice constants. The composition of the composite oxide is represented by the following formula 1: A{FeBC}O, wherein A is an alkaline earth metal element, and there is the case of not taking an element disposed in B, but if there is an element to be disposed in B, B is one or two elements selected from Co and Cu, C is one or more elements selected from Ta, Nb and Zr while surely including Ta or Nb, and 0.9≤a≤1.1, 0≤b≤0.25 and 0.05≤c≤0.2, and δ is a value determined by the history of material.
