    • PURPOSE:To prevent inefficiency of fuel expenditure in a supercharger possible to set in two stages of high and low supercharging pressures, by making it possible to convert the supercharging pressure to the low pressure side automatically when the engine does not require a high torque for a partial loading, even though the supercharging pressure is set manually to the high pressure side. CONSTITUTION:In the above-captioned device, a waste gate valve 13 installed at an exhaust bypass route 22 furnished to detour a turbine 2 of a supercharger 1, is controlled by a diaphragm type actuator 14. In this case, a transformer room 16 for the actuator 14 is connected to an intake pipe 6 at the lower stream of a compressor 3 through a bypass route 12, as well as connected to a negative pressure control valve 19 convertible to link or cutoff to the atmosphere. The negative pressure control valve 19 is controlled by an ECU 26 according to outputs of a pressure sensor 25 and a manual switch 27. When the pressure in the intake pipe detected by the pressure sensor 25 is less than a preset value, for example, the valve 19 is off, the rightward movement of the diaphragm 15 is allowed, and the supercharger 1 can be converted to a low supercharging pressure condition.
