    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply separating an aromatic cyano compound from an organic solvent. SOLUTION: This method for producing the aromatic cyano compound is characterized by adding water to an organic solvent (A), concentrating the obtained mixture solution to deposit the aromatic cyano compound, and then filtering the obtained deposits. It is desirable that the concentration method is an azeotropic dehydration method, because the organic solvent (A) and the water can simultaneously be removed to deposit the objective compound in the left solvent. Another organic solvent (B) may be used instead of the water, and when impurities contained in the aromatic cyano compound are dissolved in the organic solvent (B) and the water, their employment enables the enhancement in the purity of the objective compound.
