    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the selective oxidation ability of an employed catalyst at high accuracy in the selective oxidation of the carbon monoxide of a raw material gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide, and to provide a method of efficiently producing a gas containing high concentration hydrogen.
      SOLUTION: When the raw material gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide and a gas containing oxygen are caused to flow through a catalyst layer for selectively oxidizing the carbon monoxide of the raw material gas, a correlation between the position in the raw material flowing direction of the catalyst layer and the concentration of carbon monoxide or oxygen at the position of the layer is determined.
