    • PURPOSE: To feed predetermined amount of fuel at anytime by detecting the operation of fuel injection pump through the phase angle of driven shaft then time converting only such range as the detection of angle is substantially unable and injecting predetermined amount of fuel.
      CONSTITUTION: On the basis of the load information from unit angle sensor 50, accelerator sensor 40 and temperature sensor 45, a control circuit 26 will determine the fuel injection to obtain the spill start timing of time unit from two-dimensional map of engine rotation thus to turn on a spill solenoid valve 21 upon elapse of Tθ from the referential angle signal detecting time point of referential angle sensor 30 and to finish injection. If there is variation of rotation, it will cause a spill timing error thereby the count of unit angle signal from the sensor 50 and the time count through a time counter are employed to execute control having low spill timing error. Consequently, specific amount of fuel is ensured irrespectively of the varying time point of engine rotation resulting in improvement of fuel consumption.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent malfunctioning of an apparatus for controlling the fuel injection timing, by providing an ignition judging means for judging whether fuel is ignited normally or not in feedback controlling the fuel injection timing of a diesel engine by detecting the actual ignition timing. CONSTITUTION:The actual ignition timing is detected from the output signals of a reference position detector 4 and an ignition timing detector 5, and an aimed ignition timing is detected from the output signal of an engine speed detector 6D. The fuel injection timing is corrected according to the deviation between the aimed ignition timing and the actual ignition timing. Further, whether ignition of fuel is normal or not is judged from the output signals of an injection quantity detector 6A, engine speed detector 6D and ignition timing detector 5. If ignition is not normal, feedback control is stopped. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent malfunctioning of the apparatus even if no ignition signal is obtained, for instance, when trouble is caused with the ignition timing detector or fuel supply is interrupted.

    • PURPOSE:To make optimum injection timing control performable at all driving ranges all the time, by calculating the desired injection timing with interpolative calculation of an N-dimensional map which makes detected data on engine speed, load quantity and suction pressure an independent variable. CONSTITUTION:As a driving state detector 1 detecting various driving states of a Diesel engine, there are provided with an engine speed detector 1a, an accelerator operated variable (load quantity) detector 1b, a suction pressure detector 1c, etc. And, with interpolative calculation of a 3-dimensional map 30 which adds suction pressure P to engine speed NE and load quantity Q as an independent variable, a control target (desired injection timing) Ts is found. This three-dimensional map 30 is set so as to secure optimum injection timing for exhaust gas emission control at a low speed, low- and medium-load range I, while to secure the optimum injection timing for reduction in a rate of fuel consumption at a medium, high speed and low, medium load range II and at a high load range III, to secure the optimum injection timing for reduction in the rate of fuel consumption in a scope where a smoke quantity may not exceed the limit value, respectively.

An error correction factor is determined by a calculating means VI based on the error, and the valve opening timing is calculated by a calculating means VIII based on this error correction factor and the basic factor of the valve opening timing of a spill valve IX determined by a basic factor calculating means VII based on the engine speed and the accelerator opening.

Further, there is provided a detected gain adjusting means V' for adjusting the detected gain of a signal from the ignition sensor to compensate the ignition timing. With this arrangement it is possible to calculate a stable and accurate actual ignition timing, thereby the control of fuel injection may be made with a high degree of accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent overrun of an engine, by providing a trouble detecting means which detects a trouble on the system of a spill valve by means of signals from a detecting means for a signal for the number of revolutions of an engine and an electromagnetic valve driving signal detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The fuel injection pump of a Diesel engine is controlled by an electromagnetic spill valve to control injection of fuel. A driving signal detecting circuit detects function of an electromagnetic valve. By means of signals from the driving signal detecting circuit and a detecting circuit for a signal for the number of revolutions, a trouble detecting circuit detects the presence of a trouble. Based on a signal from the trouble detecting circuit, a fuel cut valve is driven to shut off the fuel when a trouble occurs. This enables prevention of overrun of an engine even during failure in operation of the spill electromagnetic valve.
