摘要： Polymeric foam and polymeric foam products that contain a foamable polymer material, at least one blowing agent, activated carbon, and water are provided. The activated carbon acts as both a water absorbent and carrier for the water. The activated carbon is able to control and increase cell size even in the presence of carbon dioxide, HFCs, and/or infrared attenuating agents. Additionally, the activated carbon permits a desired amount of water to be introduced into the polymer melt. By controlling the amount of activated carbon and its water content during an extrusion process, a broad range of cell sizes can be obtained in the extruded product. In exemplary embodiments, the activated carbon is added to a primary extruder and water is directly injected into a secondary extruder. Alternatively, the activated carbon is compounded with a polymer resin, pre-hydrated by conditioning or steam impregnation, and added to a primary or secondary extruder.

摘要： A sealed self-contained photohardenable imaging assembly comprising: a first transparent polymeric film support; a second polymeric film support which may be opaque or transparent; an imaging layer disposed between said first transparent support and said second support; a subbing layer disposed between said first transparent support and said imaging layer, said subbing including a polymer having chemical moieties which bond to said microcapsules; and an adhesive material disposed between said imaging layer and said second support; said imaging layer comprising a developer material and a plurality of microcapsules, said microcapsules encapsulating a photohardenable composition containing a color precursor, a polyethylenically unsaturated compound, a cyanine dye/borate photoinitiator and a disulfide having the formula: ##STR1## where X is selected from the group consisting of S and O except X is N when the disulfide includes one or more tetrazolyl groups; n represents 0 or 1; A represents the residue of the ring containing the N, C and X atoms, the ring containing five or six members and, in addition, said ring members may be fused to an aromatic ring; and R.sup.5 is an aromatic radical selected from the group consisting of (i) phenyl, (ii) benzothiazolyl, (iii) benzoxazolyl, (iv) tetrazolyl, (v) pyridinyl, (vi) pyrimidinyl, (vii) thiazolyl, (viii) oxazolyl, (ix) quinazolinyl, and (x) thiadiazolyl, wherein the imaging layer exhibits a residual stain of less than about 0.3 density units, wherein said microcapsules are melamine-formaldehyde microcapsules formed in the presence of pectin and said developer material is a phenolic resin essentially free of water soluble acid salts.
