    • A system for reducing in-phase and quadrature-phase (I/Q) impairments includes first, second, third, and fourth programmable registers for storing respective first, second, third, and fourth values, first and second finite impulse response (FIR) filters having respective first and second sets of filter taps, and first and second adders. The first FIR filter receives an I input signal and generates first and second intermediate output signals based on the first and second values for I and Q channels, respectively. The second FIR filter receives a Q input signal and generates third and fourth intermediate output signals based on the third and fourth values for the I and Q channels, respectively. The first and second adders receive the first and second, and the third and fourth intermediate output signals, respectively, and generate compensated I and Q output signals for the I and Q channels.

    • Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate mitigating a hidden node condition in a wireless mesh network wherein nodes utilize a request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) protocol in conjunction with an asynchronous hybrid automatic repeat request protocol. For instance, a node may contend for a set of subcarriers by sending an RTS signal over the desired subcarriers, and may receive a CTS signal over the contended subcarriers, wherein the CTS signal indicates which subcarriers the node may transmit data over. If another node has won the contention for a particular subcarrier, requesting node may adjust a power level at which it transmits an RTS or a data packet in order to permit the requesting node to utilize the subcarrier without interfering with the winning node.

    • A system and method are provided for distributing wireless network access parameters in a multi-mode communications user terminal (UT). The method includes: establishing a link between a UT and a first communications network (i.e., a cellular network); accessing a parameters server via the first network; downloading access parameters for a wireless, second communications network (i.e., a Wireless Local Area Network); and, using the downloaded access parameters to establish a wireless link between the UT and the second communications network. The downloaded access parameters may include information such as a security key, Service Set IDentifier (SSID), traffic channel allocation, and optimization parameters including transmit power, quality of service (QoS) settings, and operational mode. Alternately, the database may cross-reference UT ID to parameters such as QoS, IP address, gateway information, subnet mask, Domain Name Server (DNS) information, or geographical location.
