    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual sense regeneration assisting apparatus permitting easy handling of a device in the operation of implanting the intracorporeal device and capable of being stably operated in vivo for long time. SOLUTION: The visual sense regeneration assisting apparatus is to facilitate the regeneration of the visual sense of a patient by electrically stimulating the cells or the tissue constituting the visual nerve system which forms the visual sense of the patient. The visual sense regeneration assisting apparatus comprises a stimulating part having a plurality of electrodes for electrically stimulating the cells or tissue constituting the visual nerve system which forms the visual sense of the patient; a receiving part composed of a casing separate from the stimulating part for acquiring at least either one of the electric power for driving the stimulating part from outside the living body, or the electric stimulation pulse data for outputting electric stimulating pulse signals from the electrode; and a connection means having a connector part for electrically connecting the stimulating part and the receiving part with a conducting wire and for dividing and joining the conducting wire at prescribed positions on the conducting wire.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual restoration aiding device suppressing the movement of a return electrode in an eyeball.
      SOLUTION: The visual restoration aiding device includes: a plurality of electrodes installed in the posterior ocular segment of the patient's eye for electrically stimulating cells or tissues constituting the visual nervous system; a control section controlling to output electrical stimulation pulse signals from the electrodes; and a return electrode section having a return electrode installed in the eyeball facing the electrodes in the other side of the retina for forming a current pathway of the electric stimulation pulse signals. The return electrode section has the return electrode having a length sufficient for penetrating through the sclera of the anterior ocular segment of the patient's eye and located in the vitreous body of the patient's eye, a conducting wire for electrically connecting the return electrode to the control section, and a fixing section inserting the return electrode into the eye from the sclera and fixing and retaining the proximal end of the return electrode or the distal end portion of the conductive wire located near the electrode insertion hole in the sclera, to the sclera, with the distal end of the return electrode located in the vitreous body.
