摘要： Selective MMP-13 inhibitors are isophthalic acid derivatives of the formula wherein: R1, R2, and R3 independently are hydrogen, halo, hydroxy, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkoxy, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, NO2, NR4R5, CN, or CF3; E is independently O or S; A and B independently are OR4 or NR4R5; each R4 and R5 independently are H, C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkynyl, (CH2)n aryl, (CH2)n cycloalkyl, (CH2)n heteroaryl, or R4 and R5 when taken together with the nitrogen to which they are attached complete a 3- to 8-membered ring, optionally containing a heteroatom selected from O, S, or NH, and optionally substituted or unsubstituted; n is 0 to 6; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compounds are useful for treating diseases in a mammal that are mediated by MMP enzymes.

摘要： An air induction system for an aircraft to control distortion and pressure recovery for improved aerodynamic performance. The system includes an inlet and at least one dielectric barrier discharge generator positioned upstream of the engine for imparting momentum to a low-energy boundary layer of air. A plurality of spaced dielectric barrier discharge generators may be activated in selected combinations to optimize performance at respective flight conditions. In one embodiment, one or more generators may be oriented generally transverse relative to the flow of intake air to eject the boundary layer in a lateral direction and prevent its ingestion by the engine. In another embodiment, one or more generators may be oriented along the direction of flow to accelerate the boundary layer air.

摘要： A pneumatically operated and controlled pump which is capable of maintaining its efficiency and reliability in various environments. The pump head contains a spool and sleeve valve assembly operated in response to a signal pressure. The assembly controls the cycling of the pump through a pumping phase and a pump filling phase. A timing switch on the surface controls the occurrence of the signal pressure and thus the pump cycles, at preset intervals thus eliminating any lag time between the cycles and the need for operator estimations of the cycle times. This results in a virtually closed system and self contained unit.
