    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene identification method and an expression analysis method that are simple and easy while holding high reliability, and a database construction method for a comprehensive fragment analysis for use in the methods.SOLUTION: The database construction method includes steps for fragmenting genomic DNA contained in a sample or cDNA obtained from a transcription product and imparting an identifiable indicator sequence to obtain a fragment DNA mixture; carrying out high-speed DNA sequencing of a portion of the fragment DNA mixture and acquiring lead sequence data on all fragment DNA contained therein; examining the presence of indicator sequence portions on all the lead sequence data and extracting the lead sequence data having the indicator sequence; carrying out clustering and assembling of the sequences using sequence similarity and sequence length parameters on all the extracted lead sequence data to form a plurality of clusters, and acquiring the number of structural sequences of the clusters, consensus sequence and consensus sequence length, and alignment information on the clusters.
