    • The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 3-chloropropyldimethylchlorosilane by hydrosilylation reaction in a reaction medium comprising dimethylhydrochlorosilane and allyl chloride, in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of di-μ-chlorobis(η-1,5-cyclooctadiene)diiridium, the said process being characterized in that at least one auxiliary in the free or supported state selected from the group of compounds consisting of: (i) ketones, (ii) ethers, (iii) quinones, (iv) anhydrides, (v) unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds (UHC) having an aromatic nature and/or comprising at least one C═C double bond and/or at least one C≡C triple bond, it being possible for these unsaturated bonds to be conjugated or nonconjugated, the said UHCs being linear or cyclic (mono- or polycyclic), having from 4 to 30 carbon atoms, having from 1 to 8 ethylenic and/or acetylenic unsaturations and optionally comprising one or more heteroatoms, (vi) and their mixtures, is added to the reaction medium, with the condition according to which, when the auxiliary comprises one or more UHCs as defined above, then this (these) UHC(s) is (are) mixed with at least one other auxiliary other than a UHC.

    • The invention relates to the preparation of organodialkylalkoxysilane using a continuous method consisting in bringing an alkanol into continuous contact with an omega-haloalkyl dialkylhalosilane in a countercurrent reactor, such as a plate column or a packed column. The reaction is performed in the aforementioned countercurrent reactor in the presence or absence of a non-reactive solvent with scavenging of the hydrochloric acid formed. The omega-haloalkyl dialkylalkoxysilane thus formed is particularly suitable for use as a starting material for the preparation of organosilicon compounds containing sulphur having general formula (I) by means of sulphidisation reaction on an alkaline metal polysulphide.

    • The present invention relates to a sulfur-cross-linkable elastomeric composition that is useful for the manufacture of tires. This elastomeric composition is based on at least one isoprene elastomer (in particular natural rubber), a reinforcing inorganic filler (in particular, silica), and an (inorganic filler/isoprene elastomer) coupling agent. The coupling agent is a multifunctional polyorganosiloxane (POS), which comprises functions denoted as “Y” and “X”, wherein the Y function is at least one hydroxyl or hydrolyzable function grafted to the silicon atoms of the coupling agent and the X function is a group bearing at least one activated ethylene double bond and is grafted to the silicon atoms of the coupling agent. This POS is, in particular, a POS having an imide, acid or ester function, the ethylene double bond of which is activated by at least one adjacent carbonyl group (—C═O). The present invention further relates to a tire comprising the composition described above as well as semi-finished products for tires, in particular, treads, where the tires comprise a rubber composition according to the present invention.
