    • Disclosed herein is a system and method for coupling communication terminals. In a communication method performed by a terminal coupler according to the present invention, sequence numbers are sequentially assigned to data packets received from a terminal end device. The data packets with the sequence numbers assigned thereto are individually transferred to a plurality of communication terminals belonging to a same group in conformity with preset scheduling policies. Data packets, received from the plurality of communication terminals belonging to the same group, are reordered by sequence numbers, and the reordered data packets are transferred to the terminal end device.

    • The present invention relates to an uplink framing method and apparatus in a mobile communication system. After a mobile terminal and a base station are connected to each other in a wireless manner, the base station allocates an uplink radio resource to a medium access control (MAC) layer of the mobile terminal, and then scheduling is performed for each connection in a buffer. Next, a packet data unit (PDU) is generated to satisfy the uplink time constraint and then transmitted to the base station. Therefore, hardware implementation complexity can be minimized in a mobile communication system that should support fast data transmission, and at the same time, a required uplink framing time can be minimized in a system that supports a short frame period.

For this purpose the uplink synchronization request method includes: when uplink traffic is generated, determining whether an uplink synchronization error occurs; when the uplink synchronization error occurs, calculating a timing adjustment value; and transmitting a bandwidth request code including the calculated timing adjustment value to a base station and performing a bandwidth request. According to the present invention, the PSS compares a reference adjustment value and an arrival time of a downlink preamble to calculate uplink synchronization timing and synchronize an uplink of the PSS that requests bandwidth allocation through a bandwidth request ranging process to thereby maximize resource use efficiency in the uplink synchronization.

In the method, a switched beamforming algorithm is applied to perform downlink beamforming, and an adaptive beamforming algorithm is applied to perform uplink receiving beamforming. In addition, a half wavelength array antenna is used to simultaneously allocate the same resource to two terminals separately positioned in two different spaces, so as to support spatial division multiple access (SDMA). In this case, since a base station uses channel status information at transmitter (CSIT) for transmitting beamforming and receiving beamforming, the SDMA may be supported without obtaining additional channel status information at receiver (CSIR) when realizing the uplink receiving beamforming.
