    • The present invention proposes methods and devices to further improve relay systems operating on the basis of carrier aggregation on the access as well as on the backhaul link. Under an aspect of such approach, there is proposed a relay node as a device, comprising a transceiver device, configured to communicate via a first interface with a terminal and via a second interface with a remote network device, wherein communication via the first and/or second interface is configured to operate based on aggregation of plural individual component carriers, and a control device, configured to perform, per component carrier: detection of a change concerning a component carrier on the first interface, sending, responsive thereto, of update information pertaining to at least the first interface towards the remote network device, reception of reconfiguration instructions, implied by the detected change, to be applied on the first interface, and initiation of reconfiguration of the first interface based on the received instructions. Similar approach is applied to a donor eNB as well as to corresponding methods and computer program products.

    • An access node of a radio access network of a cellular communication system obtains first configuration information for at least one relay node which is capable of being wirelessly connected to the radio access network via the access node and is associated with the access node, wherein the first configuration information comprises information on an interface between the access node and the at least one relay node, and transmits the first configuration information to at least one other access node of the radio access network.     • After a successful authentication in a femto system, a home base station management system is used to send configuration data to a home base station and manage the home base station over a secured management connection. The configuration data stored in the management system is classified into two types: a) Device-related configuration data, which are indexed by a device ID; and b) subscriber/user-related configuration data, which are indexed by a subscriber ID. The management system sets up a binding relationship between device ID of the home base station and the subscriber/user identity of the USIM/SIM installed in the home base station. Then the management system generates full configuration data for the home base station based on the combination of the binded IDs. In other words, the full configuration data contains device-related configuration data selected from the classified configuration data based on the binded device ID, and user-related configuration data selected from the classified configuration data based on the binded subscriber/user ID. The management system then sends this full configuration data to the home base station.

    • A gateway apparatus (40) for a user equipment (20) which is connected to a radio-access network via a relay node (10) determines that a dedicated bearer is to be created for a specific type of traffic which is to be transmitted on a data radio bearer to be created between the relay node (10) and a donor node (30) of the radio access network, and includes a parameter into a message requesting creation of the dedicated bearer, which indicates that the dedicated bearer is required for integrity protection or used to carry the specific type of traffic. The message is sent from the gateway apparatus (40) to a mobility management apparatus (50) which includes a second parameter in a message requesting setup of a radio access bearer for the type of traffic based on the parameter. The donor node (30) receives this message, recognizes from the second parameter that integrity protection is required for the data radio bearer, initiates a process to create the data radio bearer for the type of traffic requiring integrity protection, and initiates the integrity protection for the data radio bearer by including an indication that integrity protection is required for the data radio bearer in a connection reconfiguration message for initiating creation of the data radio bearer.
