    • A solution for determining in a radio receiver a data sequence indicating transmission parameters and a spreading factor applied to a frame before receiving the whole frame in the radio receiver. According to the provided solution, the transmission parameters and the spreading factor are determined from received data of a partially received data sequence indicating the transmission parameters of the frame. The received portion of the data is despread with known possible spreading factors and the despread data is compared with corresponding data of known possible transmitted data sequences. Spreading factor-data sequence combination resulting in the best match with the received data is then determined to be the most probably transmitted data sequence. The results of comparison with respect to the spreading factor may be combined with another spreading factor determination procedure for more reliable detection of the correct spreading factor.

    • The present invention relates to the IJL part of the UTRAN long term evolution (LTE) which is being specified in the 3GPP under the ReI. 8 Work Item, and also relates to resource allocation for non-data-associated control signals (such as ACK/NACK and CQI) transmitted with UL data on the PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel). Data-non associated signalling can be multiplexed with UL data by means of time division multiplexing (TDM). Included in the present invention is a method and apparatus for linkage between Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUSCH) Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) and amount of resources for control on PUSCH. According to certain embodiments of the present invention, a mechanism and/or formula are presented for scaling the amount of control resources (CQI, ACK/NACK), allowing for flexible adaption of the size of control region for controlling the quality of the control channel. This allows for the adaption of quality of UL signaling in order to meet target requirements.

    • A method includes determining a base sequence, cyclic shift, and UE-specific portion of a frequency comb, applying the cyclic shift to the base sequence to create a shifted sequence, and selecting a portion of the shifted sequence as a user equipment-specific SRS. The selected portion of the shifted sequence corresponds to the portion of the frequency comb. A second method includes assigning a cyclic shift and a UE-specific portion of a frequency comb to a UE, where the cyclic shift is for use by the UE to apply the cyclic shift to the determined base sequence to create a shifted sequence. The portion of the frequency comb is for the UE to select a portion of the shifted sequence for SRS. The method includes transmitting indications of the base sequence, the cyclic shift, and the portion of the frequency comb. Auxiliary DMRS may be provided using SRS resources.
