    • Systems and methods for a communication system implementing a short range communication link between devices advertising available information and services, and user devices which may initiate a request for further information or services. The communication system provides a low power solution utilizing an optimized combination of a carrier sensing and frequency division multiple access to avoid collisions. The optimization involves the use of a random mean zero value offset appended to the advertising devices' transmission frames. The offset increases the likelihood that a first advertising device will recognize the transmissions of another advertiser's transmissions (i.e., determining that a channel is busy) and avoid unnecessary transmissions that will result in collisions. Upon recognition, the first advertiser may shift its transmission frame accordingly, thereby avoiding transmission collisions between advertisers. The communication system may be implemented in either a StandAlone LowRate system, or in a device with a pre-existing operational Bluetooth implementation.

    • Procedimiento para ser usado en un sistema de comunicaciones inalámbricas (1) que comprende unos terminales inalámbricos (MT1 a MT4), un canal de comunicación (CH) y por lo menos un punto de acceso (AP1, AP2) y un controlador de puntos de acceso (AC1, AC2), comprendiendo el procedimiento las etapas siguientes: - activar por lo menos una conexión de transmisión de datos entre el terminal inalámbrico (MT1 a MT4) y el punto de acceso (AP1), en la cual se transmite información en paquetes, - formar tramas de datos (FR) para la transmisión de los paquetes, - complementar dicha trama de datos (FR) con por lo menos un elemento de datos de comprobación de errores, en cuya formación se usa por lo menos una parte de la información contenida en la trama de datos (FR), - convertir dichas tramas de datos (FR) en señales a transmitir sobre el canal de comunicación, - recibir señales transmitidas sobre el canal de comunicación y convertirlas en tramas de datos, - formar datos de referencia correspondientes a por lo menos un elemento de los datos de comprobación de errores basándose en la información recibida en la trama de datos (FR), - comparar los datos de comprobación de errores recibidos con dichos datos de referencia, y - transmitir un mensaje de acuse de recibo desde el dispositivo (MT1 a MT4) que recibe las tramas de datos hacia el dispositivo (AP1, AP2) que transmite las tramas de datos, caracterizado porque el procedimiento comprende además las etapas siguientes: - determinar por lo menos un primer valor de referencia (RX_Thr), - definir por lo menos un primer tipo de error y un segundo tipo de error, siendo cada uno de ellos indicativo de un motivo de un error, - formar un valor de medición (RX_Lev) basándose en la señal recibida, - si los datos de comprobación de errores y los datos de referencia no coinciden, comparar dicho primer valor de referencia (RX_Thr) con dicho valor de medición (RX_Lev), en el que uno de dichos tipos de error se selecciona basándose en la comparación para las partes recibidas incorrectamente de las tramas de datos (FR), y - complementar dicho mensaje de acuse de recibo con información sobre el tipo de error.
