    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel multibranched polyoxyalkylene derivative and its production intermediate, in particular, provide a multibranched polyoxyalkylene derivative which can modify a biological substance so that the biological substance can keep its activity at high level and which can modify the biological substance in a simple manner; an intermediate of the derivative; and a conjugate of the multibranched polyoxyalkylene derivative with a biological substance bound thereto. SOLUTION: Provided are a polyoxyalkylene derivative (1) which has a functional group reactive with a biological substance; a biological substance modified by the reaction with the compound; and a polyoxyalkylene derivative (A) which is an intermediate for the production of the compound (wherein m is 20 to 500, n is 15 to 700, X is a functional group reactive with biological substance).
