摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low friction sliding member having more excellent and lower shearing force than MoS 2 and to provide a low friction sliding mechanism using the same. SOLUTION: This low friction sliding member has a hard carbon thin film on at least a part of a sliding face, and a tribo-film containing ether, oxide, and alcohol is formed when sliding while an organic oxygen compound exists on the hard carbon thin film (except the case where both of the sliding faces have a hard carbon thin film composed of a-C diamond-like carbon, and lubricating oil containing poly-α-olefin and glycerol monooleate exists between the sliding faces). The tribo-film is formed in a scope of depth of 10 nm or less from a sliding surface of the hard carbon thin film. The low friction sliding mechanism uses the low friction sliding member and includes the organic oxygen compound on the sliding face formed by the low friction sliding members and the sliding face formed by the low friction sliding member and a metallic member. 摘要： In a lash adjuster (A) of a valve gear which employs a serration-shaped thread mechanism, the formation of tribochemical reactive film is suppressed by using as the materials for its adjuster screw (15) and nut member (13) or the materials for their thread surfaces such materials that even if FM oil (friction modifier oil: motor oil containing organic molybdenum) is used, the friction coefficient will not extremely fall. The nut member is provided on the underside of an end plate (12) of a lifter body (11). The adjuster screw (15) is threadedly engaged in a threaded hole (14) of the nut member (13). The adjuster screw is biased by a return spring (16). The female threads of the threaded hole and the male threads of the adjuster screw are serration shaped. One or both of the nut member and the adjuster screw, or the pressured thread surfaces of one or both of them are formed of a material that will not react with oil additives of FM oil to suppress the formation of tribochemical reactive film, thereby stabilizing the operation of the lash adjuster.

The formed oxide can strengthen bonding force between the substrate and the solid lubricating film (e.g. MoS2). 摘要： A heat resistant and wear resistant iron-based sintered alloy for use as the material of an engine component part which is subjected to severe temperature and wear conditions. The iron-based sintered alloy is comprised of a matrix formed of metal powder having the composition of alloy steel or high speed tool steel. An additional metal component formed of hard alloy powder is dispersed in the matrix in an amount ranging from 3 to 50% by weight of the matrix. The hard alloy powder contains as major components iron, molybdenum and silicon which improve the wetting property of the hard alloy powder with the matrix and form intermetallic compounds which are high in hardness and excellent in heat and oxidation resistances.
