    • PURPOSE:To provide an optical characteristic inspection method and an apparatus which measure various optical characteristics of many optical components without the intermediary of human hands in the halfway part of a series of measurements. CONSTITUTION:A light source 16 and the like are installed. An input port changeover device 12 which selects one arbitrary port from input ports of an optical component 10 so as to be used as an input port is installed. An output port changeover device 13 which selects one arbitrary port from output ports of the optical component 10 so as to be connected to a first port or a second port is installed. Beam splitters 14 which branch a beam of light from the light source into two beams of light and in which branching ports on one side are connected to respective input ports are installed. A reference beam port changeover device 15 which selects one arbitrary port from branching ports on the other side of the beam splitters 14 so as to be used as a reference beam port is installed. A photodetector 24 is installed. A reference-beam detector 25 is installed. A light-source changeover device 26 by which the light from the light source is changed over, and connected, to the input port for the input-port changeover device or to the second port for the output-port changeover device 13 is installed.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce remarkably the memory capacity and to improve the reliability at core line switching by providing a static characteristic measuring means measuring the static characteristic of the 1st and 2nd variable resistive elements, a dynamic measuring means and a switching CONSTITUTION:The titled device consists of the static characteristic measuring means 12 with simple circuit constitution measuring each currentresistance characteristic of 1st and 2nd photocoupler type variable resistive elements 6b, 10b discretely in a spot way at a proper measuring interval and storing it in a prescribed memory 2 under the control of a CPU 1, a dynamic characteristic measuring means 13 checking whether or not the specific control function to the variable resistive elements 6b, 10b obtained by the result of the static characteristic measurement is used for the actual core line switching, and a core wire switching means connecting the core wire switchingly to the variable resistive elements 6b, 10b while adjusting the resistance according to the control function after the end of check. Since the expected resistance between spot current-resistance characteristic data stored in the memory is realized while the resistance is calculated minutely and smoothly by a CPU based on the said data, the memory capacity is reduced remarkably.
