    • PURPOSE:To set the cutting speed without being affected by a weld bead and to improve productivity by increasing a cutting electric current after detecting the weld bead and increasing the cutting current for the bead part having a thicker wall than a produced pipe than a part having a thin wall other than the bead part. CONSTITUTION:This plasma cutting device is provided with a plasma cutting torch 4 to cut the welded steel pipe 1 in the peripheral direction and a weld bead detection means to detect the weld bead 10 of the welded steel pipe at the time of cutting before attaining the cutting position by the torch. The plasma cutting current is increased only for the weld bead part of the welded steel pipe and the cutting current is suppressed for the other part having the thin wall and cutting can be performed. Consequently, the cutting speed of the welded steel pipe is set without being affected by the weld bead and the productivity can be improved. In addition, the cutting current can be suppressed for the greater part other than the weld bead and the service life of a nozzle of the plasma torch and an electrode can be extended.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation in the axial direction of a spiral steel pipe and to eliminate the dislocation of cutting by bringing an endless band-shaped body elastically along the outer peripheral surface of the spiral steel pipe in tight contact therewith, thereby putting both into a surface-to-surface contact without relative slips. CONSTITUTION:A caterpillar 18 as the endless band-shaped body consisting of roller chains 15, plate bodies 16 and rubber bodies 17 is brought into tight contact with the outer peripheral surface of the spiral steel pipe 2 and can be circumrotated within the plane orthogonal with the pipe axis as the spiral steel pipe rotates. In addition, the endless band-shaped body comes elastically into tight contact with the outer peripheral surface of the spiral steel pipe 2 in the surface-to-surface contact and can be put into not a rolling state by a point contact but a fixed clamp state. The track is, therefore, made to travel together with the spiral steel pipe in the pipe axial direction while the deviation in the pipe axial direction is prevented and while the component in the rotating direction of the spiral steel pipe is escaped. The generation of the dislocation in the cutting is obviated in this way and the dealing with even the spiral steel pipes of different diameters is possible while the relative surface-to-surface contact free from the relative slips is assured by the endless band-shaped body.
