    • PURPOSE: To reutilize limestone-contg. powder as an auxiliary raw material for iron and steel making and to decrease the amt. of the quicklime and limestone to be used by adding the limestone-contg. powder to metallic iron or FeO-contg. powder at a limited ratio and mixing the same then subjecting the mixture to self-calcination.
      CONSTITUTION: The limestone 2 as the limestone-contg. powder is added at ≤50wt% to converter sludge 1 as iron-contg. powder and is mixed to form a mixture 3. The effect is higher if the mixture is pelletized by using, for example, a trommel 4, etc. to form a pelletized mixture 5. The mixtures 3, 5 are charged to a furnace 9 having a fire grate 8 and are ignited from below by a suitable firing means, for example, a gas burner 10, etc. The mixtures are subjected to the self-calcination by the natural ventilation through the spaces 8a of the fire grate or the force ventilation with a suction blower 11, etc., after the ignition.

    • PURPOSE:To operate a blast furnace with minimum consumed energy by a method in which the minimum value of the function indicating the consumed energy in total process by applying the improved Nelder-Mead process, and the specially determined value of the variable satisfying said minimum value of the function is used as the index of the furnace operation. CONSTITUTION:The operative condition of a blast furnace to minimize the energy consumed in iron and steel making process operated by energy generated in its self and energy supplied from outside is obtained, and the blast furnace is operated by using said condition as an index. Then, blast temperature, blast humidity, fuel blown amount, nitrogen blown amount, oxygen blown amount etc. are used as variables x in the function f(x) indicating the amount of energy consumed in total iron and steel making process. Next, the upper and lower limit value of each of these variables, bosh gas amount, combustion temperature in front of tuyeres, estimated temperature of the furnace core and the limited value determined by others are as restriction conditions. Improved Nelder-Mead process is applied in the range which is capable of operation and is determined by these restriction condition. The minimum value of said function f(x) is obtained and the specially determined value of said variables (x) satisfying this minimum value is used as the index for the blast furnace operation.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture a cylindrical ring efficiently and inexpensively, by a method wherein an unvulcanized rubber sheet of an even thickness is wound round an external circumferential surface by interposing a flexible sheet and vulcanization treatment is performed by performing press bonding and fixation of the ceramics sheet, to the outside of which a ceramic small piece has been stuck. CONSTITUTION:After a flexible sheet 6 such as paper or cloth which is burnt down by heat at the time of vulcanization treatment has been stuck to an external circumferential surface of a cylinder 4 constituted of a metal, an unvulcanized rubber sheet 7 of about an even thickness is wound round the same. Then the vulcanization treatment is performed by winding a ceramic sheet 5 round the same so that the backside 2b of a ceramic small piece 2 comes into contact with the unvulcanized rubber sheet 7. The flexible sheet 6 is burnt down with the heat at the time of vulcanization treatment. A cylindrical ring molded product 10 which has completed its vulcanization treatment becomes a hollow rubber ring by pulling out the cylinder 4, which is made a cylindrical ring 1 of a predetermined width through cutting off.
