    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a combination plan the yield of which is excellent even in the latter half of a lot in a practical time period by collectively calculating the combination of the whole lot. SOLUTION: A grouping means 7 captures data concerning a plurality of orders and a plurality of materials, and classifies the materials into a plurality of groups according to the size. A pattern creation means 8 finds a plurality of patterns of the combination for one material under a predetermined patterning condition according to the size of the order. A pattern selection means 9 selects a pattern necessary for the combination of the materials by finding the assignment of the group and the pattern according to an evaluation function at least indicative of whether or not the yield of the material is good. Thereby, it is possible to make a combination plan the yield of which is excellent even in the latter half of a lot in a practical time period by collectively calculating the combination of the whole lot.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a plan to arrange a plurality of metallic products which differ in length from a plurality of materials, by making an arrangement plan which is satisfactory in yield and small in the variations of saw cutting efficiency, even in the latter half of lots, at a high speed in practical time. SOLUTION: First, a plurality of orders are classified into a number of groups, set preliminarily in the ascending order or descending order of the length of orders so that the total value of the products of the length and number of the orders belonging to each group can be made equal, according to the length and number of orders for every chunk (orders) of products whose specifications are identical, and the rate (saw-cutting ratio) of the total value of the products of the length and number of orders belonging to each group to the total value of the products of the length and number of all orders is calculated. Then, one materials of the arrangement object are successively selected from the leading materials, and cumulative saw cutting target length shown by the product of the length of cumulative materials, until the pertinent materials and the saw-cutting ratio regarding each group is calculated, and arrangement is searched so that the cumulative saw cutting planned length can be made the closest to the cumulative saw cutting target length.
