    • PURPOSE:To attach easily and quickly a cooling plate for repair to the wall of a blast furnace by suspending said plate by means of a wire rope via suspension rings, suspending the plate through the opening at the furnace top, pulling the leg part of the cooling plate toward the furnace wall by using a hook-pull metal inserted through the through- hole of the furnace wall and fixing the same to the shell. CONSTITUTION:The top end of a wire rope 8 is fastened to the suspension rings 45a, b attached to the upper part in the cylindrical part of a cooling plate 4 for repair and an attaching leg part 44 thereof and the cooling plate is suspended down to the prescribed position in the furnace through the opening at the furnace top by means of a freely liftable and horizontally turnable suspending device 6. A hook-pull metal 23 is then inserted into a through-hole 5 of the furnace wall for attaching the plate 4 punched preliminarily in an iron wall 1 and after the plate 4 is pulled toward a shell 1 side by said metal, a separately prepd. hook-pull metal 23a is hooked to the ring 45b of said leg part 44 by which the leg part 44 is pulled into said hole 5. The part 44 is fitted to the prescribed position and is then fixed to the shell 1 by means of required attaching fixtures, etc. by which the plate 4 is attached to the prescribed position.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the next castable refractory filling operation in a short period of time by a method wherein a castable refractory filling hole is drilled in the damaged part of furnace wall and a castable refractory is filled, then, while it is semisolidified, a through-hole is opened, and an inert gas is injected through it. CONSTITUTION:A desired number of castable refractory filling holes 4a are drilled, at proper positions, into the damaged part of furnace wall. The holes are drilled to the inner surface of refractory bricks 2 or the inner surface of the iron shell 1 so that the castable refractory can be filled smoothly. A castable refractory feeder 11 is connected to the holes 4a and then a castable refractory layer 5 is formed in the furnace. After filling, while the castable refractory is semisolidified, a hole 6 is opened through the castable refractory layer 5 to reach the furnace inside. An inert gas feeder pipe 7 is connected to the holes 4a, and, from the end of the through-hole 6, gas is projected to prevent the hole 6 from being blocked with foreign material. In this manner, the through-hole of the specified dimensions is secured until the next castable refractory filling operation.

    • PURPOSE:To mix gases and air uniformly and to improve the combustibility in a hot stove by measuring the components of the waste gases in the lower part of a regenerating chamber, detecting the drifts of the gases and the air and regulating the angles of the flow regulating plates provided in gas venting chambers and air venting chambers. CONSTITUTION:Flow regulating plates 13 are provided tiltably in the fuel gas venting chambers 4 and combustion air venting chambers 5 below a combustion chamber. In a combustion period, the waste gases in the lower part of a regenerating chamber 3 are sampled from >=2 positions on the centerline at the horizontal section of the chamber 3, and the components of CO and O2 in the waste gases are measured. The measured values are compared with each other or with the prescribed values which are set beforehand. Or further said values are compared with the velocity of flow of the gases, etc. and the drifts of the gases and the air are detected. In accordance with such drifts, the angles of inclination of the plates 13 are regulated to prevent the drifts. As a result, the combustibility in the combustion chamber is improved and the thermal efficiency thereof is improved.
