    • PURPOSE:To secure the adhesion of a side weir and cooling rolls and prevent casting defect by using limiting plates having shrinkable both of side edges in a twin roll type continuous casting having the limiting plates whose tip parts come into contact with the outer peripheral surfaces of a pair of the cooling rolls and both sides come into contact with the side weirs. CONSTITUTION:At the time of forming a molten metal pouring basin part by pouring the molten metal into a continuously cast mold constituted by pressing the side weirs 3, 3 to both end surfaces 1A, 1A of one pair of the cooling rolls 1, 1 mutually arranged in horizontal and parallel directions, by using the limiting plates 4, 4 whose tip parts are brought into contact with the outer peripheral surfaces 1B, 1B of the cooling roll and both of side edges 6, 6 are brought into contact with the side weirs 3, 3 and the surface of the molten metal basin part and the outer peripheral surfaces 1B, 1B of the cooling rolls are separated. Then, the molten metal pouring basin part is constituted so as to use the limiting plates 4, 4 having shrinkable both side edges. Therefore, the casting can be executed without generating enclosing of the scum and the surface roughness of the cast strip caused by the waving of the molten metal.

    • PURPOSE:To restrain the stagnation of molten metal flow by straightening and to make the casting in a long time possible by making a radius of curvature in a contracting hole in a plugging structure and a radius of curvature in a diameter expanding part at the lower end of the contracting hole larger than the specific times the contracting hole diameter. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal S in a vessel 1 is poured after passing through the contracting hole 6 arranged in the plugging structure 5 at the lower end of the stopper 4 and a pipe 3. An opening area of the contracting hole 6 at the side surface of the plugging structure 5 is adjusted by reciprocating the stopper 4 in the vertical direction to control the pouring flow rate of the molten metal S. The contracting hole 6 is gradually curved according as the radius 8 of curvature having the size of >=2 times of this diameter and the flow of the molten metal S at this position is straightened and the stagnation is eliminated. Further, the cross sectional area at the outlet part of the contracting hole 6 is gradually enlarged according as the radius 9 having the size of >=2 times of the contracting hole diameter 7, and as the contracting hole has the structure connected with the hole 2 in the vertical direction of the pipe 3, the flow near the outlet of the contracting hole 6 is straightened and the stagnation is eliminated.
