摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a good broad and thin strip by suppressing nozzle crack at the time of melting a sample which is heretofore a hindrance in production of the broad and thin strip. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 4 having an opening for ejecting molten metal is covered with a heat insulating material 1 at the time of heating and melting prescribed metal. This heat insulating material I is removed and the molten metal sample is ejected onto a cooling base plate 9 and is rapidly solidified after the metal melts and before the molten metal is ejected out of the nozzle opening. As a result, the crack occurring in the thermal stress generated heretofore at the time of producing the broad and thin strip is completely prevented and the trouble at the time of casting which is heretofore generated by the crack of the nozzle is eliminated. Further, the thin strip which is less fluctuated in the thickness is stably produced.
