摘要： A Ti-Al intermetallic compound alloy material which is superior in strength at high temperatures and ductility and a method for producing the same comprising the steps of dispersing fine alumina (Al2O3) at an O2 concentration of 1000-5000 wt.ppm and with a particle diameter of 200∩500 nm and boride (TiB2) at a B concentration of 0.1∩10 at % and with a particle diameter of 500 nm or less, adding 1-3 at % of one or two or more of Cr, Mn and V, and direct casting them at a cooling speed of 10?3∩105¿ °C/sec, the resulting product containing 50∩53 at % of Ti and 47∩50 at % of Al. The present invention can provide a material for automobile exhaust valves and jet engine turbines which is superior in tensile strength at high temperatures and ductility at room and high temperatures.

The steel is composed of 0.8 or less Si, 0.05-3 Mn, and 0.1 or less Al in mass% and the balance substantially of Fe. It is a round bar of 3.5 mm in diameter and 25 mm in gauge length, and the yield point through the room-temperature tensile test at the rate of deflection of 0.5 mm/min is 500 MPa or more, and the strength is 550 MPa or more. The Charpy impact value in the temperature range of room temperature to 78 K is 250 J or more.

The gage 1 can be used for a long period, since it is isolated from the outdoor air. Besides, the position of the connector 2 can be recognized easily, since the height thereof is larger than the thickness of paint 14 on the surface of the structure 13 and the connector projects above the surface of the structure 13 even after the paint 14 is applied.
