    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a electrodialysing recovery method for tar acids from oils including the tar acids using a compact system, involving little problem with e.g. waste water treatment and capable of long-time operation. SOLUTION: This electrodialysing recovery method includes the steps as following; an oil including tar acids is contacted with an alkaline solution so as to obtain phenolates and extract the resultant phenolates with the alkaline solution, the phenolate-containing solution 5 is introduced into a electrodialyser 6 having >=1 unit which has >=2 chambers divided by a cation exchange membrane and/or an anion exchange membrane situated between >=2 bipolar membranes setting at between anode and cathode and electrolyzed to a tar acid 12 and the alkali and each are concentrated in their suitable chamber as an aqueous solution of recovered tar acids and a recovered aqueous alkali solution 17. The aqueous solution of recovered tar acids is fed to a tar acids recovering system 8 so as to recover the tar acid 12 and at least a part of remained aqueous solution after tar acids recovering is used as a diluent for the recovered aqueous alkali solution 17 generated also by electrolysis so as to adjust the concentration of the solution and another part of the remained aqueous solution is at least partially used as the alkali aqueous solution for extraction.
