    • PURPOSE:To eliminate erroneous operation due to disturbance light from street lights and to stably change over headlights in response to light from another vehicle, by separating a signal having the component of light from the street lights from detection signals, and by compensating the detection signals in accordance with the thus separated signal. CONSTITUTION:Light entering into a light receiving section 10 is focused by a lens 11, and converted into a signal proportional to the intensity of light by means of a light receiving element 12 which delivers output signals. These output signals are delivered to a low pass filter 30 and a band pass filter 40 through an amplifier 40. That is, the low pass filter 30 allows signals having frequencies less than, for example, 10 Hz to pass therethrough while the band pass filter 40 allows signals having frequencies 100 to 120 Hz alone such as, for example, light from fluorescent lamps, to pass therethrough. Further, output signals from the low pass filter and a smoothing circuit 50 are amplified by a differential amplifier 60 to obtain output signals relating light from another vehicle alone. Thereafter, a voltage comparator 70 compares a reference voltage Vr and an output signal from the differential amplifier 60, and a relay 90 changes over head lights into their low beam mode as it is required.

    • PURPOSE:To provide proper head light illumination by enabling whether light beams from the front of a vehicle are ambient light beams or reflected ones emitted from the vehicle itself to be judged and changing over a head light to the high beam side or low beam side. CONSTITUTION:A first light receiving device is disposed such that the center line of a condenser lens 11 is aligned with the centers of 6 light receiving elements 120-125 arranged horizontally on a plane including the focus of the condenser lens 11. And light beams from the front of a vehicle are divided and received at a plurality of regions different from each other at least in horizontal direction. On the other hand, ambient brightness is detected by a light receiving element 91 of a second light receiving device 9. Next, the output of an analog multiplexer 2 is passed through an amplifier 3 and A/D converter 4 to send a digital signal to a microcomputer 5, and pulses of a rotation sensor 8 and judge whether the light beams from the front of vehicle is ambient light beams or ones emitted from the vehicle and reflected from the surroundings. On the basis of this judgment is changed over a head light to the high beam side or low beam side by a relay drive section 6 and a relay 7.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous action due to outside disturbance by configurating a device in such a way that one of the plural number of photoelectric transducers is used for the detection of dark current, and the rest of them is interrupted so as to obtain the performance of an specified directional angle in a photosensing device employed by an automatic head light change-over device and the like. CONSTITUTION:In a composition where the plural number (eight each shown in the figure) of photoelectric transducers 10a through 10h as an optical sensor 10 which senses the head light from a car running on the opposite lane, are arranged in a same plane, one (10a) of these transducers is used for the detection of dark current so as to output only dark current at all times whereby the overall surface of the transducer is covered with an AL electrode 15 of a cathode side. Besides, the upper and lower portion of the photoelectric transducers 10b, 10c, 10g, and 10h are covered with the Al electrode 15 of the cathode side, and the change of their electrode section allows their directional angle to up and down to be changeable. Moreover, a P layer of the photoelectric transducers 10d through 10f is not made to be covered with the AL electrode 15 of the cathode side.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to precisely change over the beams of head lights between high and low beam modes, by enabling light rays from received form a vehicle ahead of the instant vehicle to be discriminated from the reflected light rays of the received light at the instant vehicle, in accordance with the distributions of brightness of the received light in the horizontal areas of the front section of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A head light change-over device comprises a lens 10 and a light receiving element 1 composed of a plurality of photo-electric elements 20 through 125 which are horizontally arranged. This light receiving device 1 receives light rays having even a small incident angle and divides them into several areas which are horizontally different, and issues signals indicating variations in the amount of light received at the areas. The output signals from the light receiving device 1 are successively delivered to a microcomputer 5 through a multiplexer 2, an amplifier 3 and an A/D converter 4, and therefore, the microcomputer 5 determines the change-over between the high and low beam modes of head lights. Further, with the result of the judgment, a relay 7 is controlled by means of a relay drive section 6 so that the headlights are changed over between the high beam side and the low beam side.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a correct light detection signal, by detecting a dark current of a photoelectric element and an offset of an amplification circuit from a photoelectric signal through an amplification circuit from a dark current detecting element to remove them from a photoelectric signal generated by the detection of an incident light. CONSTITUTION:A photosensor 1 having a plurality of photoelectric elements and one photoelectric element for detecting dark currents (shown by the shade) arranged on the surface plane outputs a plurality of photoelectric signals Sn (n=0-7) according to light such as head light of an on-coming vehicle. An analog switch 2 changes over the outputting of the photoelectric signals Sn from the photosensor 1 sequentially according to a control signal Ci from a microcomputer 5 and the photoelectric signal Si is converted into a voltage Vi and outputted with an amplification circuit 3 at a specified amplification factor. An A/D conversion circuit 4 converts the output Vi from the amplifica tion circuit 3 into a digital value DiN to output. The signal previously memorized is subtracted from the DIN to determine DOUT (light detection signal).

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to precisely detect a vehicle, even a bus or the like, with the use of a head light change-over device using a light sensor for detecting the approaching of a vehicle to change over the high and low beams of head lights, by making large the upward directivity angle of one of several photoelectric elements constituting a photo-sensor, which is in the vicinity of the center section of the photo-sensor. CONSTITUTION:A head light change-over device comprises a lens 10 for focusing light from the head lights of a vehicle on the opposite lane and light from the tail lights of a vehicle ahead of the instant vehicle and a light sensor 20 composed of a plurality of photo-electric elements 20a through 20g and delivering a plurality of light photoelectric signals Sn in accordance with the focused light. Further, these photoelectric signals Sn successively converted into voltages Vkn by means of an input processing circuit 30, and thereafter, is delivered through an AD converter circuit 40 into a control circuit 50 for controlling a drive circuit 60 which turns on a low beam lamp 72 or a high beam lamp 71 in each head light 70 in accordance with the output of the circuit 50. In this arrangement, the photoelectric element 20g in the photo-sensor 20 has a directivity angle which is larger than the vertical and horizontal light receiving directivity angles of the other photoelectric elements, and therefore, it is possible to detect the approaching of even a vehicle having tail lamps positioned at a high level.

CONSTITUTION:A head light change-over device comprises a lens 10 for focusing light from the head lights of a vehicle on the opposite lane and light from the tail lights of a vehicle ahead of the instant vehicle and a light sensor 20 composed of a plurality of photo-electric elements which are two-dimensionally arrayed in one plane and delivering a plurality of light photoelectric signals in accordance with the focused light. Further, these photoelectric signals are successively converted into voltages by means of an input processing circuit 30, and thereafter, is delivered through an AD converter circuit 40 into a control circuit 50 for controlling a drive circuit 60 to turn on a low beam lamp 72 or a high beam lamp 71 in each head light 70. Further, at this time a suitable row of the photoelectric elements in the photo-sensor 20 is selected in accordance with the output of an inclination sensor 90 for detecting the inclination of the vehicle and the output of a vehicle speed sensor 80, and therefore, a precise focusing of light may be always made.
