    • An apparatus (1) for measuring the concentration of a non-volatile component in an electrodeposition paint (P) contained in an electrodeposition paint tank (2) in which a conductive article to be coated, such as the body of a motor vehicle or a steel stock is immersed. When a valve (43) is closed, other valves (39, 42, 46 and 47) are opened and a liquid feed pump (37) is operated, the electrodeposition paint (P) flows into a cyclone (10) through a liquid feed (13) and an introducing pipe (24). The electrodeposition paint (P) which has entered the cyclone (10) is divided into two flows, one ascending in the cyclone (10) and the other descending in the cyclone (10). Air bubbles contained in the electrodeposition paint (P) flow together with the ascending electrodeposition paint (P) into a return path (15) and the descending electrodeposition paint (P) passes through a connecting path (14) and enters an ultrasonic damping factor measuring device (11) of the measuring apparatus (1). The damping factor of the electrodeposition paint (P) measured by the ultrasonic damping factor measuring device (11) and the temperature measured by a temperature sensor (34) provided in an auxiliary paint tank (4) are delivered to an arithmetic unit (12). In the arithmetic unit (12), an accurate concentration of the non-volatile component is calculated by an operation expression, which takes into consideration the damping factor of the electrodeposition paint (P), and differences between the reference time and the measuring time temperatures, pHs and solvent concentrations.
