摘要： A process for producing a water-dispersible resin composition comprising: the step of conducting free-radical polymerization of a starting mixture composed of: (a) 10-95 wt.% of a water-insoluble resin having a solubility in water of 1 or less and (b) 90-5 wt.% of a monomer mixture composed of (1) 2-75 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer and (2) 98-25 wt.% of another ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator, and the step of neutralizing the obtained acidic resin composition with a neutralizing agent. The obtained composition provides a coating composition which is improved in shelf stability and solid content, stable, and excellent in workability in coating. As well-dispersible resin particles serve to improve coating film uniformity, the coating film obtained from the composition is improved in transparency, smoothness, chemical and water resistances, and mechanical strength.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of forming a composite coating film which makes it possible to attain both appearance and workability in a high-humidity environment. 摘要： A method for producing a water dispersible resin composition, comprising the steps of: radically polymerizing, in the presence of a polymerization initiator, a starting mixture comprising (a) 10 to 95 % by weight of a water insoluble resin having a solubility in water of not more than 1; and (b) 5 to 90 % by weight of a monomer mixture consisting of (1) 2 to 75 % by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having an acid group, and (2) 25 to 98 % by weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomer other than (1); and neutralizing the resulting resin composition containing an acid group by adding a neutralizing agent. A coating composition is provided which is stable and excellent in coating workability and has improved storage stability and solid components content of the coating composition. Since particles excellent in dispersibility improve the uniformity of a coated film, transparency, smoothness, chemical resistance, water resistance and mechanical strength of the coated film are also improved.

摘要： Disclosed is an aqueous metallic coating composition which significantly reduces the production of hydrogen gas and does not have the problems which are brought about from hydrophobic segments. The composition can be stored for a long period of time and provide a metallic coating having good appearance and film properties (e.g. water resistance and adhesive properties with substrates). The aqueous coating composition of the present invention comprises (a) an acryl resin having a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 50,000, an acid value of 15 to 200 and a hydroxyl value of 20 to 200, prepared by copolymerizing an ethylenic monomer and a phosphate monomer represented by [wherein X represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, Y represents an alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms and n is an integer of 3 to 30.] and (b) a pigment; the acryl resin being present in an amount of 2 to 500 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the pigment.
